Under the new scheme, each of the 9,500 participating farmers will receive a subsidy of Rs one million for green tractors. The Chief Minister recently inspected four types of tractors and even took one for a test drive, calling the experience delightful.

Following the balloting, the first recipients of the tractors were announced: Mohammad Yasin from Okara, Talib Hussain from Chakwal, and Ghulam Akbar from Dera Ghazi Khan. In total, 339 farmers in Okara, 111 in Chakwal, and 276 in Dera Ghazi Khan will benefit from this initiative.

The CM congratulated the winners, stating that their names are posted on the “CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme” portal and the Agriculture Department’s website, with further details available at local Agriculture Department offices. Additionally, she revealed plans to distribute 1,000 green tractors free of cost to wheat growers with 25-50 acres of land through another round of balloting.
