Chief Minister Punjab has announced the “HONHAAR UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM”., a historic initiative for talented students in Punjab. The government will cover the cost of the Undergraduate Degree Program in 68 disciplines across 50 Public Sector Universities, 16 Medical Colleges, 131 Graduate Colleges of HED, and high-ranked universities like LUMS, FAST National University, COMSATS, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), NUST, and seven other leading Private Sector Universities. Each year, 30,000 scholarships will be offered, with an investment of over PKR 7 billion rupees. The Honhaar Scholarship Program aims to cover over 120,000 students in the next four years and an overall investment of over PKR 130 billion in eight years.
Eligibility Criteria

- Academic Performance:
- Medical Colleges: Minimum 80% in FSc/Intermediate.
- Top Universities: Minimum 80% in FSc/Intermediate.
- Public Sector Universities:
- For Sciences: Minimum 75% in FSc/Intermediate.
- For Arts and Social Sciences: Minimum 70%.
- HED Colleges:
- For Sciences: Minimum 65% in FSc/Intermediate.
- For Arts and Social Sciences: Minimum 60%.
The scholarship program seems to target high-achieving students from low-income families in Punjab, encouraging them to pursue higher education in top institutions.
